Scope and Goals
Cloud computing services have turned out to be increasingly successful. This new delivery model provides flexible access to software solutions (Software-as-a-Service, SaaS), deployment platforms (Platform-as-a-Service, PaaS) and unlimited hardware resources (Infrastructure-as-a-Service, IaaS) over the Internet while promising significant cost reductions through usage and time based pricing models at the same time.
A major shift in the enterprise software industry is currently happening from a classical product-centric towards a service business. Enterprise software providers make more and more intensive use of the cloud computing model and start delivering their solutions to customers, either as hybrid on-demand/on-premise or as on-demand offerings only. Successful examples like Salesforce.com have shown that there is a huge interest and demand from the customer side for these new offerings. This creates challenges and opportunities from a technology and business perspective, for both, the software providers and their customers.
Thus, the goal of this interdisciplinary workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners in order to explore the issues and challenges related the design, development and use of cloud services in the context of enterprise information systems in the future.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Technology aspects
- Interoperability and emerging standards
- Composition and integration
- Master data management in hybrid on-premise / on-demand environments
- Software architectures and technology platforms supporting the multi-tenancy model
- Software development processes
- Data Governance
- Lifecycle management
- Reliability and Availability
- Security
- Business aspects
- Customer behavior, e.g. adoption models & patterns, customer-to-customer interaction and the changing role of enterprise IT
- Software service science: design and manage cloud-based services
- Financial impacts, pricing and sales models
- Legal and country-specific aspects
- Ecosystems and new business models
- Industry-specific perspectives
- Demonstration of applications and/or their successful usage in Customer Relationship Management, Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, Enterprise Resource Planning , Product Lifecycle Management, Business Intelligence, Enterprise Collaboration or Enterprise Content Management
